Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Inpatient Acute Oncology Unit on the night shift. This role requires strong clinical expertise in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration, and the ability to provide high-quality care to complex adult oncology patients in an acute care setting.
Contract & Schedule Details
- Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Shift: Night shift (NOC)
- Hours: 12-hour shifts
- Start Time: 7:00 PM
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- Number of Openings: 2
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to inpatient oncology patients
- Administer and monitor IV chemotherapy in accordance with established protocols
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed to support staffing requirements
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Licensure & Experience Requirements
- Active and current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient acute oncology nursing experience
- Proven experience with IV chemotherapy administration
- Ability to float to Med/Surg units as needed
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ONC/Chemotherapy Certification
Systems & Technology
- EPIC EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Position requires employment as a W-2 employee through the staffing agency
- Med/Surg and Critical Care RNs may be required to float based on unit needs
