General Description:
- Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the company
- Oversees the development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of a quality plan to bring the company’s quality system and policies into compliance with quality system requirements
- Communicates to the President and management on quality-related issues
- Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality issues as required including the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer specifications
- Evaluates the risk/reward of accepting jobs for processing
- Ensures ITAR registration
- Represents the company during all audits
- Serves as company liaison with State and Federal government agencies
- Prepares and maintains all necessary state regulatory reports as required
- Ensures all equipment used for production is maintained and working properly
- Oversees the routine maintenance of production equipment
- Schedules and presides over Management Review Board meetings
- Ensures all quality related documents are completed, legible and retrievable
- Oversees the maintenance of all quality assurance records
- Ensures adherence to company policies and safety standards
- Maintains all safety records
- Conducts all chemical analyses
- Handles the preparation of hazardous waste for offsite disposal
- Performs other duties as required or directed
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to work in the production area environment, where the employee may be exposed to varying noise levels, heat or cold
Essential Skills/Abilities
The individual must:
- Have strong knowledge of all OSHA, federal and state laws as they relate to safety and the metal finishing industry
- Must be knowledgeable with AS9100 and Nadcap accreditation programs
- Have the ability to maintain good relationships with other employees at all levels and work in a team environment
- Be able to interpret processing specifications
- Be able to read blueprints
- Be able to read, utilize and operate various types of measuring equipment such as Micrometers (manual not digital), Calipers, and Delta Scopes
- Be able to work independently
- Be able to handle changing priorities under tight deadlines
Essential Skills/Abilities, continued:
- Adhere to all safety procedures when handling chemicals, as required
- Follow all shop safety rules and wear all protective equipment made available
- Have strong leadership, organizational and management skills
Education Requirements
- Must have experience with hazardous chemical safety
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks and participating in professional societies
