About the Role: The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of general litigation experience and be capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously. This is a great opportunity for an experienced litigator to take ownership of cases and contribute to a top-tier team. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days in the Oakland office.
Responsibilities:
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and trials.
- Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies.
- Manage complex, multi-party discovery processes.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on a range of litigation matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive and team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of general litigation experience.
- Proven ability to take and defend depositions and prepare and respond to written discovery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from $165,000 to $195,000, based on experience. The firm has an annual billable hour requirement of approximately 1,600 hours, with a tiered bonus program that provides a clear path to significantly increase earnings. For those who meet or exceed this goal, total annual compensation can range from $207,000 to $245,000. The firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
