Position Overview
The Case Specialist will provide direct support to clients by connecting them with essential resources, services, and referrals. This role requires fluency in Farsi, Dari, or Pashto and strong cultural competency to serve immigrant and refugee communities. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients, assessing immediate needs and determining eligibility for programs and services.
- Conduct intake interviews, maintain accurate case records, and develop individualized service plans.
- Provide referrals to housing, healthcare, employment, education, and other community resources.
- Translate and interpret for clients as needed to ensure clear communication.
- Advocate for clients by coordinating with partner agencies, government programs, and internal teams.
- Track progress, follow up on client needs, and document outcomes in compliance with organizational and funder requirements.
- Support program initiatives, outreach activities, and workshops that address community needs.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Farsi, Dari, or Pashto (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of case management, social services, or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills; empathetic and client-focused approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and client database systems.
- Knowledge of local community resources and cultural competency in serving immigrant/refugee populations.
