Job Description
This position is responsible for prioritizing, organizing, assembling, packing, moving, staging, and processing material within the packaging department with regard to efficiency, quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Packs outgoing materials and products.
- Counts items shipped and records any discrepancies.
- Assembles and packages various types of materials and finished products.
- Use various materials to pack products.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organizational standards and policies, and legal regulations.
Specific Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Ability to read and interpret a work order
- Familiarity with general assembly methods
- Ability to memorize and recognize parts by number and finish.
- Ability to interpret detailed job paperwork and instructions
- Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as work independently.
- Willingness to cross-train and rotate positions effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience Required:
High school education or equivalent.
Previous packaging and assembly experience is preferred.
