Network Architect
Job Responsibilities:
- Enhance security team accomplishments and competencies by planning the delivery of solutions and answering technical questions.
- Plans, research, and designs security architecture for IT/SCADA/OT systems.
- Develops reviews, and approves installation requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, firewalls, routers, and related network devices.
- Determines security protocols by evaluating business strategies and requirements.
- Responds to, and investigates, security incidents and provides through post-event analyses.
- Develops project timelines for ongoing system upgrades.
- Reviews system security measures and implements necessary enhancements.
- Conducts regular tests and monitoring of Metro Enterprise network, security, and integration with OT network.
- Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- SCADA platform and network security.
- Design a network meeting the functional and performance requirements of the SCADA system being supplied by third party.
- Prepare procurement specifications for the workstations, servers, network equipment and supporting appliances (equipment purchase and logistics by others).
- Provide the initial network configuration.
- Prepare installation and system integration test plan and procedures.
- Oversee installation and testing.
- Prepare training materials specifically for network security primer, monitoring network health and security Configuration Management, backup and restore.
- Prepare and provide specific training to third party vendors for the integration of their SCADA system to the provided SCADA network.
- Assist with the establishment of a Control system Security Program in line with industrys best practices.
- Deliverables include System documentation as requested, response to technical problems, SCADA network design and implementation technical documents, and Training documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- 5 years of recent experience supporting state of the art secure network design for companies providing mission critical services.
- 10 years of experience with system operations and administration of networks and network security for companies providing mission critical services.
