Project Manager-Construction
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager (PM) will capture and provide customers with daily traffic control and rental project schedules and confirmations, as well as job costing, project evaluations, and weekly assessments. The position will gather and provide project details while partnering with customers, operations, traffic technicians, warehouse, accounting departments, purchasing agents and dispatchers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Capture and coordinate customer requests for traffic control, permits, rentals or TCPs while providing expertise to each area of the business
- Review Traffic Plans to recommend proper traffic control and equipment needs to customer and scheduling
- Lead pre-job meetings with customers and internal departments
- Ensure that all projectsare deliveredor serviced on time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation by communicating regularly with internal departments
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Work with customers and cities to coordinate and secure permits as necessary or partner with internal permit department
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuringtechnical feasibility and safe
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and costing
- Review and share project performance with manager, sales, operations and other departments
- Report and escalate any customer or safety concerns
- Manage and build relationships with the client and all stakeholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Attend pre-job walks and post-job walks
- Follow and adhere to Union Contract language
- Follow and adhere to all city/agency regulations.
- Develop and maintain ongoing communication will all areas of the business that impact projects
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years in the construction industry working directly within operations, sales, project management or estimation
- 2-5 years in the traffic control industry a preferred
- Project management certification or equivalent strongly desired
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong Communication both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain pleasant and cheerful customer service demeanor
- Positive, can-do attitude in the face of adversity
- Extreme organizational skills
- Ability to accurately maintain financial and inventory records
- Ability to work with various computer systems
- Ability to work nights and weekends if needed
- Ability to multi-task and work in high stress environments
- Previous experience in project management is preferred
- Previous experience in construction environment required
- Bi-Lingual a plus
- Ability to work independently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moderate physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, walk, and climb.
- Average lift is less than 10 lbs.
- Requires ability to use a keyboard and monitor.
- Light or low amount of physical exertion.
- Limited manual dexterity or physical manipulation.
- Minimal or low level of physical stamina and endurance.
