Summary
The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring the daily operations of the Stewarding Department. Ensures the timely completion of all projects related tasks, in accordance with established procedures. Participates in the development and implementation of the department’s staffing/scheduling plan. Provides direction to subordinates on improving job performance and contributes feedback to the Team Member performance review.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides orientation and departmental rules, policies and procedures.
- Supervises training of new kitchen team members.
- Prepares all required paperwork, including but not limited to forms and reports in an organized and timely manner.
- Ensures all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance programs.
- Familiar with Stewarding SOP’s.
- Ability to work all areas stations.
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and food preparation laws and regulations.
- Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.
- Assist culinary staff with ensuring that all food preparation areas and equipment is clean and properly sanitized on a daily basis.
- Clean, sanitize and store properly all dishware, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots and pans
- Responsible for the proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, slicers, and other equipment as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist management in training and monitoring of new team members to help them achieve success.
- Assist management in monitoring and enforcing company and departmental safety policies, health department policies, and all other applicable policies.
- Assist with developing and overseeing work schedules, monitoring time and attendance
- Assist with payroll
- Prepares for and oversees health inspections, both in-house and from outside agencies, including Riverside County
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and team member records
- Protect company assets.
- Assist in daily operation of the kitchen as needed.
- Provides all line staff with the necessary tools and equipment for safe food handling.
- Direct team members in completion of tasks as designated by assignment sheets and/or needs.
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of storage areas
- Manage flow of activity during production and during events
Education / Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age, or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of stewarding experience or equivalent experience required.
- Previous lead/ supervisory experience, preferred.
- Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must possess firm understanding and practical application of health and safety standards and laws.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organization skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Required to have a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card and / or ServSafe Certification, or obtain same upon hiring.
