Job Description

Looking to get real-world experience working on cutting-edge tech? ViaBot is searching for mechanically-minded students to help keep our fleet of robots running smoothly. This is a part-time, in-person role perfect for mechanic technician students who want hands-on learning, a flexible schedule, and a chance to travel.

What You’ll Do:

  • Travel around Riverside, California to fix and maintain robots at our client sites (travel costs reimbursed by ViaBot)

  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and repairs on our robots — with plenty of support from our expert tech team

  • Use your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues

  • Keep track of what you’ve fixed using our easy internal tools

  • Work with all kinds of hand and power tools, from wrenches to grinders

  • Prioritize repairs and handle parts shipments as needed

  • Respond to maintenance requests quickly and help keep everything running smoothly

Who We’re Looking For:

  • You’re currently studying (or recently graduated from) a mechanic technician or similar program

  • You love working with your hands and figuring out how things work

  • You’ve used hand and power tools before (in class, a shop, or on your own projects)

  • You’re detail-oriented and like solving problems

  • You can work solo or in a small crew without much supervision

  • You’re comfortable lifting 30+ lbs and moving equipment around

  • You’re open to traveling — sometimes on short notice, including weekends

  • You have a valid driver’s license and work authorization

  • You can communicate clearly in English

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with electrical systems or robotics (even in school projects)

  • Leadership or training experience

Schedule & Perks:

  • Part-time hours, with a typical shift of 2pm–7pm (we’ll work with your class schedule as much as possible)

  • Paid travel and hands-on training

  • The chance to work on real robots and build your skills for your future career

Location:

  • Based in Riverside, California. This is not a remote job — you’ll be on-site and on the move.
