Job Description

Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP’s San Diego office has an opening available for a Floater Legal Assistant with a minimum of 5 yrs. of experience. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and is an on-site position with a work schedule of 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Requirements:

Must have knowledge of federal and state court filing rules and procedures with business litigation experience that includes e-filing, and must be familiar with the litigation life cycle of a case. Transactional work experience is a plus. This position requires excellent proofreading and writing skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage calendaring with precision. The ability to multi-task, handle a fast-paced workload, and keep organized are a must. Assistance with daily overflow, administrative tasks and projects is required.

Must have exceptional typing, Word formatting, editing, redlining, and exceptional computer software skills with specific knowledge of Word 2010 or higher, Outlook, and iManage or similar document management system. Knowledge of CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, Comparite, and CCC Macros are a plus.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, have a positive attitude, have great communication skills, be organized and a true team player. Must demonstrate a proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks forward independently. Will coordinate and maintain effective office procedures and an efficient work flow, follow policies and procedures set by the Firm, will establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with all personnel, clients, vendors and guests of the Firm.
