Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence
- Assist with case preparation, including discovery and trial proceedings
- Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and negotiations
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
- Provide support in estate planning and environmental law cases as needed
- Stay current on relevant laws, statutes, and regulations
- Handle administrative tasks to support case management
Qualifications Needed:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree; licensed to practice law in California (Bar admission required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in litigation and personal injury law (preferred)
- Strong legal research skills (Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Proven ability to draft motions, pleadings, and trial documents
- Experience with estate planning, wills, trusts, and environmental law a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage cases, work under deadlines, and handle trial preparation
