LOCATION: West LA
PAY RANGE: $190K - $250K
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support senior attorney in labor and employment litigation cases.
- Assist in developing strategies to address and resolve employment-related disputes.
- Conduct thorough legal research on labor and employment laws, regulations, and precedents.
- Advise clients on labor and employment issues, including but not limited to employment contracts, workplace policies, and compliance matters.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Prepare for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Assist in negotiating and drafting employment agreements, separation agreements, and other related documents.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and providing strategic legal advice.
- Collaborate with clients to develop proactive solutions to employment-related challenges.
- Stay informed about developments in labor and employment law and share knowledge with the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of overall experience managing cases, overseeing discovery, taking, and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, writing briefs, and preparing and arguing motions.
- Experience representing employers in litigation matters regarding employee relations, wrongful termination, employment discrimination claims, employee handbooks and policies, workforce reductions, and wage and hour matters.
- CA Bar admission is required.
- Strong legal writing and research skills are required.
- Able to supervise matters throughout the life cycle – pre-litigation counseling and handling litigation from inception through trial
- Skilled in Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, and Excel – as well as general office equipment.
- Knowledge of iManage, ProLaw, or related software is preferred.
- Proficient in legal research and e-filing systems.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – are required.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and complete simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
