Job Description

Job Description

MyOme's mission is to provide clinically actionable genetic information to patients throughout their lives. We combine clinical-grade whole genome sequencing, advanced AI methods for genome interpretation, and seamless digital tools for doctors and patients to order and access results. Our team is composed of seasoned entrepreneurs, scientists, and operators, and we're backed by top-tier investors.

Position Overview:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at MyOme will support the field team as a clinical expert and be responsible for engaging with the broader medical and scientific community to support education, relationship-building, and strategic growth. Acting as a bridge between external stakeholders (healthcare providers, researchers, and key opinion leaders) and internal teams (Clinical Affairs, Business Development, Product, Research, and Marketing), the MSL will help drive the adoption of MyOme's genomic testing-based products. This role will play a key part in supporting clinical components of business development, building research partnerships, and providing actionable field feedback to guide product and clinical strategy. Candidates with experience across multiple clinical specialties or settings, particularly rare disease genetics, are strongly preferred.

We're looking for someone who thrives in the fast-paced, evolving environment of a growing startup - someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, collaborates effectively across teams, and can confidently represent MyOme in conversations with clinicians, researchers, and strategic partners. As an MSL, you'll operate at the intersection of clinical, commercial, and research initiatives, contributing with autonomy, clinical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to deliver meaningful impact across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with Business Development to support strategic accounts by delivering clinical education, addressing scientific questions, and helping differentiate MyOme's products.
  • Gather and share field insights by documenting clinician feedback, market needs, and emerging trends to inform product development, clinical strategy, and messaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clinicians, institutional partners, and potential research collaborators; serve as a clinical liaison to support research engagement and execution.
  • Contribute to scientific initiatives, including the development of abstracts, presentations, and publications; represent MyOme at scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop educational resources and slide decks tailored for both physician and patient audiences, ensuring scientific accuracy and clear communication.
  • Educate external and internal stakeholders on the clinical utility, advantages, and limitations of MyOme's genomic testing offerings through clear and effective communication.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Affairs, Product, Research, and Marketing to ensure alignment on clinical messaging and support a seamless client experience.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong understanding of clinical genetic testing and genomics, including current applications, limitations, and industry trends.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing; confident and engaging public speaker.
  • Collaborative and highly organized, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to relationship-building across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Master's degree or higher in genetic counseling, human genetics, or a related healthcare field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an MSL or similar medical affairs role in the life sciences industry. Experience with the introduction of new laboratory tests, particularly within genetics diagnostics space, strongly preferred.
  • Preferred experience across multiple clinical areas or specialties, either within genetics or in both genetics and other healthcare domains.

Location, Compensation, and Benefits:

  • Location: Remote in the US. Occasional travel is required for team meetings or field sales support.
  • Compensation: Annual base salary range is $120,000 - $160,000, depending on experience.

Benefits:
