Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in our organization by overseeing the estimation processes for various construction projects, with a focus on public works and commercial construction. This position requires a deep understanding of construction methods, costs, and project timelines to provide accurate and competitive estimates that will drive successful project bidding and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimation process for public works and commercial construction projects.
- Review project plans and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and scope.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive bids.
- Prepare and present estimates to management and stakeholders for approval.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost-saving opportunities during the preconstruction phase.
- Maintain and update a database of cost information for future projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, with a focus on public works and commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
