JOB SUMMARY
The Childcare Specialist provides child development services for children of program participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor/Manager, the Caregiver 2 provides personal care services to On Lok participants receiving home care and/or day center services. At On Lok, Caregivers provide the same services as a "Personal Care Attendant" position referred to in the PACE regulation (42 CFR Part 460).
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>May perform duties of a Caregiver 1.</li>
<li>Provides onboarding and ongoing training for other Caregiver-1s and 2s using manuals and formal training materials as a guide.</li>
<li>Active participation in departmental meetings and family meetings as needed.</li>
<li>Other related duties as assigned.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):

<li>Minimum one-year experience working with frail or elderly required.</li>
<li>Minimum one-year experience working in home or clinic setting preferred.</li>
<li>HHA or CNA required.</li>
<li>Understanding of PACE model gained through personal experience or research.</li>
<li>Must be flexible and have a positive attitude working across multiple settings.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary team.</li>
<li>Must have current Basic First Aid and CPR certification.</li>
<li>Knows, uses and explains use of safety equipment for lifting; corrects others in a positive way "here let me help you and show you how this works".</li>
<li>Physical requirements: Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, and repeat motions of the wrist and hands. Must have visual acuity. Must be able to lift/move weight that is within individual physical ability and use appropriate lifting devices or request assistance when needed.</li>
<li>Basic English reading and writing required; bilingual ability may be required in specific assignments and daily participant interaction.</li>
<li>Basic computer skills; able to use or learn to use multiple applications such as email, electronic health record.</li>
