Inside Safe is Los Angeles’ citywide proactive housing-led strategy to bring people inside from tents and encampments for good, and to prevent encampments from returning. Working collaboratively with the City of Los Angeles’ Mayor’s Office, the Inside Safe Initiative proactively engages with people living in tents and encampments based on which locations are most chronic and where people are most in crisis. It is a housing-based initiative where people are offered immediate quality housing and a commitment of services and permanent housing so they can stay inside safe for good.
The Job Connector will offer workforce development support services and resources to recently housed individuals through CRCD’s Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. The Job Connector will assist up to 25 individuals, who self-identify as ready to pursue employment, education, or training. The Job Connector, working closely with a homeless services case manager, will assist with matching clients to jobs available through the Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. The Job Connector will help to ensure clients have the supportive services needed to apply and retain employment and will report back on the status of the client for up to one year. The Job Connector will also provide the client with a warm introduction to an education or training program at Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center. In coordination with CRCD’s Associate Director of Adult Workforce Development, the Job Connector will additionally report, receive daily and/or weekly operational instructions from the Inside Safe Program Manager assigned to the Mayor’s Office. This position works primarily in the San Fernando Valley.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Encourage and promote partnership working. Liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary, and public, private, and community-based agencies to improve participants’ access to services and maximize their options for employment, education, and training opportunities for program participants.</li>
<li>Work in partnership to identify potential participants who self-identify that they are ready to work. Build and maintain effective working relationships with appropriate referral agencies to identify areas of need and people facing barriers to work, learning or volunteering.</li>
<li>Establish needs of each individual participant. Conduct confidential, one on one interviews offering information and/or guidance, as appropriate, on the range of work and learning opportunities available locally.</li>
<li>Enable participants to develop the opportunity to exercise individual choice and the pursuit of their own options for work and learning and support them in these choices.</li>
<li>Assist participants to access and attend appropriate work and/or learning opportunities and relevant community activities.</li>
<li>(Co)Facilitate weekly to monthly case conferencing for participant caseload amongst WDD staff team and key partners to ensure adequate service delivery and progress towards all positive outcomes.</li>
<li>Document monthly case notes to track participant progress, service activities, and support service needs.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively to use a range of resources to help participants identify their skills, including project and online assessment tools.</li>

Requirements:

Here's What You'll Do:
Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).
Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.</li>
<li>Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.</li>
<li>Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.</li>
<li>Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.</li>
<li>Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.</li>
<li>May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.</li>
<li>Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.</li>
<li>Perform other duties assigned</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience:
<ul>
<li>1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.</li>
<li>High School Diploma/GED</li>
<li>Must be at least 21 years of age.</li>
<li>Must have a California Driver’s License.</li>
<li>Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.</li>
<li>CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).</li>
<li>Must have First Aid / CPR.</li>

Education and Experience:

<li>Minimum Education:&nbsp;High School Diploma or GED</li>
<li>Minimum Experience: 3 + years of professional or personal experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities (e.g. Autism) or mental illnesses (e.g. Bipolar) with challenging behaviors strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum Driving Experience:&nbsp;Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.</li>
