Job Description
The Construction Cost Estimating approach at National Core is linked to an overriding department philosophy of "Cradle-to-Grave" management, thus construction is involved with projects from initial site identification to post occupancy surveys. The Construction Cost Estimator reports directly to the Vice President of Construction Estimating for a range of professional responsibilities in the development of and maintenance of the Historical Cost Model, and the development of cost estimates for individual project costs, including the pre-development analysis of various multi-family affordable projects. These cost estimates include initial pre-development evaluations of the potential site impacts and requirements, review of reports and studies, preliminary assessment of the regulatory requirements, the oversight of various design consultants, and involvement in the construction bid process. 
 
The job entails responsibilities as both a general contractor and as an owner's representative managing third party general contractors. The Estimator works with the Vice President of Construction Estimating to prepare construction contracts, scopes of work, cost estimates, CPM schedules, bid packages, and shall be responsible for the buyout of projects assigned by the Construction Vice Presidents and Construction Managers. The Construction Cost Estimator is also responsible for the successful completion of the assigned projects on time, on budget, and within project quality standards.
 
The Construction Cost Estimator is also responsible for the Pre-Development phase of projects as assigned by The Vice President of Construction Cost Estimating and The Senior Vice President of Construction. These responsibilities include initial site reviews; conceptual cost estimates; entitlement processing monitoring; input as to cost implication; design consultant management relating to buildability, cost, quality, and value engineering, as examples.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description
ZGF is seeking a dynamic and well-rounded Mid-Level Interior Architect / Designer to join our team in our Los Angeles&nbsp;office. We are looking for thoughtful individuals with excellent communication and technical skills. The ideal candidate will have between 5-10 years of professional experience and will bring design excellence to every project.
As a Mid-Level Interior Architect / Designer, you will…
<ul>
<li>Perform interior design/architectural assignments with general direction, no immediate supervision, and work independently as well as collaboratively with others toward design solutions</li>
<li>Assist in developing design and technical solutions for projects in all phases, including graphics, renderings, and performance metrics for the successful communication of the design goals</li>
<li>Provide production of design drawings, presentation drawings, and digital models in support of design teams</li>
<li>Have a passion for&nbsp;programming, planning, materiality, detailing, and furnishings&nbsp; &nbsp;</li>
<li>Research products and materials, review existing projects, and those under construction to inform the production of design documentation</li>
<li>Assist in the project’s narrative for meeting building performance goals, including metrics, verification, and design integration</li>
<li>Contribute to the effective performance of the Project Team regarding project quality, schedule, and budget</li>
<li>Assist in the execution of Construction Administration responsibilities and project close-out</li>
<li>Contribute to general office-wide initiatives and marketing efforts</li>
<li>Demonstrate motivation in seeking new responsibilities and challenges</li>
<li>Help build relationships with clients and consultants with team leaders</li>
<li>Supervision and mentorship of junior staff</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>A professional Interior Design or Architectural degree</li>
<li>5-10 years of related experience</li>
<li>Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment</li>
<li>Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate</li>
<li>Well-organized and detail-oriented</li>
<li>Excellent team communication skills, design presentation, and storytelling skills</li>
<li>Experience detailing and execution of construction documents with minimal supervision</li>
<li>Experience with complex multi-phased higher education, healthcare, and/or corporate workplace projects is desired</li>
<li>Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Furniture specification and documentation experience preferred</li>
</ul>
Base Salary Range
$73,000/yr - $98,000/yr
