Job Summary:
Lead Marine has immediate openings for a NDT II for a large defense sub-contracting coming on the waterfront here in San Diego. This NDT Examiner position shall be responsible for NDT examination and certification in accordance with the company’s’ written procedure, the development and maintenance of NDT procedures, and workmanship standards. Responsibilities include designation of the appropriate NDT method to be used, and the process of conducting shop and contractor audits.

Your responsibilities will include:

<li>Monitor and measure of all client’s products and processes in the field and facility shops by performing “I”. “V” and “G” hold points and critical coating inspections on naval, MSG, USCG and commercial vessels.</li>
<li>Assists as Dept Hold Point Coordinator by taking “V”, “I” and “G” Hold points for their respective job sites and directs them to and fom the various customers and to our QA and Task leads on the ship.</li>
<li>Perform nondestructive inspection methods (VT, PT, and MT) at the level II as required.</li>
<li>Assist the divisions with deck plate subcontractor control including supplier facility visits.</li>
<li>Researches customer specifications and drawings then generates inspection reports (tickets) for various project personnel to follow.</li>
<li>Prepares QA required surveillance reports and documentation to provide objective quality evidence of the project work performed.</li>
<li>Assists with internal and external audits.</li>
<li>Closes out all QA documentation (QA Work Packages) for customer review or audit when requested.</li>
<li>Work directly with the Divisions, Departments, and Sites to revise their third tier procedures.</li>
<li>Maintains established T&amp;I Plans and is capable of establishing T&amp;I Plans from specification and Standard Item requirements.</li>

Process orders of parts through nital etch/temper etch/ammonium persulfate etching operations per shop traveler requirements and interpret results of testing.
 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/KEY RESULTS REQUIRED:

<li>Prepare parts for nital etch processing by abrasive blasting and glass bead cleaning</li>

<li>Package and prepare parts for embrittlement relief following nital etching</li>
