ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA), is the only agency in San Mateo County providing crisis intervention and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and their children, seeks a Residential Services Specialist to provide crisis intervention, needs assessment, and supportive counseling to emergency safe house residents, callers on the domestic violence hotline, as well as provides emergency telephonic response to referrals from local law enforcement. 
POSITION SUMMARY
The Residential Services Specialist/Client Navigator provides crisis intervention, case management, and supportive services to clients in CORA’s confidential safe houses. This Client Support Navigator provides a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for all clients residing in the safe houses. Services provided are voluntary and include needs assessments, safety planning, peer counseling, case management, information and referral, and group facilitation. All services are provided within the context of a trauma-informed approach and in conjunction with community partners and other CORA departments. This position requires onsite presence and support to residents at the safe houses which have various locations within San Mateo County. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Schedule, screen, and perform intake and assessments for new residents entering both safe house sites.</li>
<li>Provide immediate crisis response, needs assessment, and conduct safety planning with all callers and/or residents and facilitate access to emergency resources that aid in increasing immediate safety.</li>
<li>Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution support, mobile advocacy, and de-escalation intervention for residents on-site. </li>
<li>Provide supportive counseling, education, and information regarding appropriate internal and external referrals to safe house residents. </li>
<li>Provide targeted case management and advocacy support to a caseload of residents and/or families.</li>
<li>Provide brief child supervision on an as needed basis.</li>
<li>Develop individualized short-term service plan goals with safe house residents. </li>
<li>Facilitate resident activities, support groups, weekly community meetings, and other educational workshops.</li>
<li>Monitor and enforce residential guidelines to maintain the confidentiality, safety, and security of the site.</li>

Here's What You'll Do:
Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).
Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.</li>
<li>Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.</li>
<li>Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.</li>
<li>Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.</li>
<li>Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.</li>
<li>May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.</li>
<li>Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.</li>
<li>Perform other duties assigned</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience:
<ul>
<li>1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.</li>
<li>High School Diploma/GED</li>
<li>Must be at least 21 years of age.</li>
<li>Must have a California Driver’s License.</li>
<li>Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.</li>
<li>CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).</li>
<li>Must have First Aid / CPR.</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements

<li>Must be able to lift 50lbs.</li>
<li>Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.</li>
