GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Memory Care Director is directly responsible for the initial and continual development and monitoring of the memory care program. The Memory Care Director will achieve and maintain the highest quality of life for each resident with a diagnosis of a memory care disease, overseeing the holistic, therapeutic, person-centered care. PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• Responsibly manages and supervises staff by scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review (including input on pay adjustments), hiring and discipline consistent with company policy, and providing support, direction, feedback, and training for such staff.
• Lead, direct, and assist staff with understanding care and encourage learning by modeling the proper approaches and communication techniques.
• Conduct the new-hire and on-going dementia in-service for all staff and maintain the necessary records to reflect completion of training.
• Delegate program facilitation responsibilities to others as needed.
• Evaluate the program utilizing quality enhancement tools and customer feedback.
• Improve the program through problem solving, program development, and refinement.
• Conduct individual resident history, preferences assessments, and develop individualized service and program plans.
• Support and actively participate in the program's census building initiatives.
• Facilitate a pro-active problem-solving approach to challenging resident behaviors.
• Partner with the Director of Nursing in resolving issues related to resident care within the community.
• Work together with the Director of Nursing in scheduling and supervising staff; available to cover staffing when needed in memory care unit.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>· Current Certified Dementia Practitioner certificate is required, or obtained within designated time period, along with three or more years’ experience in caring for people with dementia and in developing and facilitating activity programs, as a manager with a specialized dementia program.</li>
<li>· Preferred qualifications include an Associates or Bachelor’s degree or four-year degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Education, Social Services or equivalent, and be a Licensed Vocational or Registered nurse.</li>
<li>· Must have at least one year experience working in a similar role with responsibilities related to program operations for memory care/dementia residents.</li>
<li>· Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.</li>
<li>· Ability to communicate proficiently in English both verbally and in writing.</li>

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.</li>
<li>Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with seniors</li>
<li>Provide medication reminders and assistance with medication management</li>
<li>Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences</li>
<li>Assist with transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities</li>
<li>Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Previous experience in caregiving preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Compassionate and patient demeanor.</li>
<li>Reliable transportation &amp;&nbsp;valid driver's license.</li>
<li>Proof of auto insurance with your name listed as a driver and a clean driving record.</li>
<li>Ability to clear background check and drug screening.</li>
<li>Dependability and integrity.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Desire to make a difference!</li>
