Under the supervision of the Site Director, the After-School Assistant Teacher is responsible for the academic, social and emotional growth and development, as well as the supervision of children. 
 
Duties
<ul>
<li>Planning and Creating the Learning Environment </li>
<li>In the classroom and playgrounds in charge of: </li>
<li>Providing a learning environment that reflects the TRF Guiding Philosophy </li>
<li>Providing a learning environment that promotes curiosity and inquiry </li>
<li>Providing a learning environment that is flexible and changes according to the needs and interests of the children. </li>
<li>Providing a classroom environment that reflects the children's learning </li>
<li>Planning and providing experiences for children that promote critical thinking and inquiry </li>
<li>Planning and providing experiences for children that nurture and stimulate their cultural needs </li>
</ul>
 
Supports Teachers in the following areas:
<ul>
<li>Completes daily ratio counts with Teacher. </li>
<li>Assist reports regularly to the supervisor any issues of concern that need immediate attention. </li>
<li>Assist and reports any symptoms of child abuse to supervisor and/or Child Abuse Hotline. </li>
<li>Assist daily health checks regarding hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of children. </li>
<li>Assist DRDP-Rs with Teacher twice a year for School Age children (completes a DRDP-R summary of findings yearly). </li>
<li>Assist classroom and parent conferences after each DRDP-R is completed.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. </li>

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
AA degree with 12 semester units in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or Recreational Courses, including core courses (Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, Program/Curriculum).
 
Additional Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Criminal background clearance with (FBI, DOJ, and CAI) </li>
<li>Complete a physical examination, T.B. test, proof of immunization for (influenza, TDap, and MMR), </li>
<li>Submission of satisfactory proof of your identity and your legal authorization to work in the United States. If you fail to submit this proof, federal law prohibits us from hiring you. </li>
</ul>

General Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Educational Development, plans and facilitates collaborative after school activity sessions for elementary, middle, and/or high school students.
Major Duties:

<li>Report to the school building on time and prepared</li>
<li>Meets regularly with the Director of Educational Development</li>
<li>Plans and facilitates group after school activity sessions consisting of games, activities, and interest based discussions</li>
<li>Maintains consistent communication the Director of Educational Development</li>
<li>Models appropriate academic and social behaviors</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

<li>Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels</li>
