The work environment is a machine shop where the products are made from coconut shells ground into a fine black carbon powder. While the machines are not loud, the environment can be very dirty, and the black charcoal can stain clothes.

Seeking a talented mechanical engineer that can work online &amp; be willing to travel to Spokane, Wahington if necessary. Expertise with internal combustion &amp; rotary Wankel engines &amp; AutoCAD is a must! Also, familiarity with CNC machines, prototyping/modeling is desirable. Must be able to assist our principal design engineer as a freelancer with initial testing and refinement of a new innovative compact engine design with multiple use cases.
Duties

<li>Develop detailed schematics and mechanical drawings for engine parts and assemblies.</li>

<li>Utilize simulation tools like FEA, MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to model system behavior and validate designs.</li>
<li>Apply ASME codes &amp; standards to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance of engine systems.</li>
<li>Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes, including CNC machining and system design integration.</li>
<li>Conduct testing and validation of prototypes using Arduino, LabVIEW, and other measurement tools.</li>
